Vacant Property Portal

Interactive Vacancy Map

AUTOMATING THIS PORTAL WITH 2020 VACANCY DATA IS TAKING A BIT LONGER THAN ANTICIPATED. The Portal has been adopted in part by the STL Regional Data Alliance and in that process is growing from a fully-volunteer effort to an increasingly collaborative and sustainable effort. Please be patient as we prepare this new tool.

TIPS
  • Click the small arrow on the top left area of the map to toggle between selection and cursor options.
  • Use the filters on the top right to display properties based on their type (building or lot), owner (LRA or private-owner), and/or neighborhood.
  • Filters can be mixed and matched. For example, you can display only privately-owned vacant buildings in the Jeff Vanderlou neighborhood.
  • You can also filter your selection by dragging the selection tool across properties, with a box or with free-draw.
  • Click on a parcel to see details about the property, or to follow links to the LRA or GeoSTL websites with more information.

DOWNLOADING THE DATA
  • To download datasets for the properties displayed on the map, click the Download Button on the bottom right of the map. Choose 'Data.' In the Pop-Up Window, click on the 'Full Data' tab, check the box for 'Show All Columns,' and then click on 'Download all rows as text file' to download.
  • Download the full data dictionary (description of the fields in the dataset) HERE and be sure to review the methods HERE.
